SONY 相機部門宣布推出新功能，只要在PC端下載“ Imaging Edge”應用程式，接著只要把相機透過 USB 連接電腦，就可以當作網路視訊鏡頭來用，如此一來不用擔心電腦視訊鏡頭不夠力，甚至還可以做直播、拍影片。
從 SONY 公開的官方資訊來看，目前有 35 款相機支援這個功能，包括最新發表的網紅神器 SONY ZV-1、Alpha 7S III。其他機種如下：
Alpha 9 II，Alpha 9，Alpha 7R IV，Alpha 7R III，Alpha 7R II，Alpha 7S II，Alpha 7S，Alpha 7 III，Alpha 7 II，Alpha 6600，Alpha 6400，Alpha 6100，RX100 VII ，RX100 VI，RX0 II，RX
除了SONY之外，Canon、Olympus、Panasonic、二手相機收購fujifilm、GoPro 其實在今年都相繼開放相同的形式連接電腦當視訊鏡頭。不過 Canon 公司支援度比較高，它的應用程式 EOS Webcam Utility 提供了 Windows 10、MacOS 10.15 (Catalina), 10.14 (Mojave), or 10.13 (High Sierra) 等多版本下載。
至於 GoPro 則需要先更新相機韌體，然後下載GoPro Webcam 桌面應用程式到電腦，之後直接接上原廠 USB to USB-C 的傳輸線，就可以把相機當網路鏡頭使用，基本拍攝品質為 1080p@30fps，支援Google Meet、Skype、微軟Teams等視訊功能，另外Twitch（要另外接OBS）、Facebook、YouTube、Vimeo、虎牙、B站等知名直播平台都是直接插好就可以使用。
然而記者前往SONY相機應用程式下載頁面發現，這個應用程式只支援 Windows 10 作業系統，並不支援其他老舊的 Windows 機種，也沒有 MacOS 版本，只能說慢慢來了…

Staying true to the pattern it has established over the last few years, 二手相機收購fujifilm is following up on its release of the X-T3 with a smaller, lighter, and more affordable camera that retains a lot of the best aspects of the flagship. According to the company, the X-T20 is its best-selling X-series camera, so producing a worthy follow-up is important. The new X-T30 is shipping next month for $899 (body only) or $1,299 in a kit with the company’s 18-55mm lens. (A 15-45mm kit will also be available for $999.) Black and silver color options will be available at launch, with a new gunmetal “charcoal silver” following in June.
From the front, the X-T30 looks quite similar to the X-T20, but 二手相機收購fujifilm has done some tinkering with the rear design. The company has added a focus joystick and removed the d-pad, figuring that the various dials, focus lever, touchscreen, and Q button — now in a more convenient spot for thumb access — are adequate for controlling the camera. That rear LCD is 10 percent thinner than the X-T20’s. The whole package is a good deal tinier than the X-T3. I think it’s a little too small in my giant hands to be my everyday camera, and it also lacks weather sealing. But if you’ve got normal-sized hands or don’t plan on taking it out in the rain, those won’t be dealbreakers.
With the X-T30’s reduced size, you lose out on the locking ISO and shutter speed dials that the X-T3 has (plus the lockable diopter) and have to live with only one SD slot, but on the whole 二手相機收購fujifilm has done a good job preserving the manual controls of its larger cameras, and plenty of the buttons can be customized to your desired function. The tiny built-in flash is also still here. The EVF is a lower resolution than the X-T3’s; same goes for the back LCD. But they’re competitive with other cameras in this category, and the touchscreen’s responsiveness is excellent.
Inside, there’s a lot that’s similar to the X-T3. The X-T30 has the same 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 backside-illuminated sensor and X-Processor 4 quad-core CPU as the X-T3, offering all the performance advancements in autofocus speed and accuracy that 二手相機收購fujifilm has made with its fourth-generation system. Phase-detect autofocus points are spread across the entire frame. Continuous shooting runs up to 30fps with the electronic shutter (and a 1.25x crop) or 8fps mechanical. It can focus down to -3.0EV and can process functions 150 percent faster than the X-T20 with the help of those upgraded internals.

And get this: the X-T30 will actually ship with better autofocus capabilities than the X-T3. It’s got improved face and eye tracking — you can choose the face you want to prioritize if there are several people in a shot — and maintains a more stable exposure when focusing on someone with black hair. It can also detect faces that take up as little as 7 percent of the frame. (The X-T3 will receive all of these enhancements and more via a firmware update in April.) In terms of stills, the X-T30 matches the X-T3 at what’s most important. The main difference is that the buffer runs out a bit faster during burst shooting.
Video is where the X-T30 is a slight step down from the T3. First, 4K recording is limited to 30p, whereas the pricier camera can hit 60p. Second, in-camera video is limited to 8-bit 4:2:0 footage. (The X-T3 can record 4K/60p in 10-bit 4:2:0 internally to an SD card or 4:2:2 externally over HDMI. The X-T30 can also output 10-bit 4:2:2 through HDMI — just not internally.) Third, the X-T30 maxes out at a bitrate of 200Mbps versus 400Mbps on the X-T3. But the video quality is still excellent, as it’s downsampled from an original resolution of 6K at full sensor readout. And last, there’s no traditional headphone jack on this camera for audio monitoring, but 二手相機收購fujifilm has a solution: USB-C. Yes, dongle life has come to the camera world; if you plug in a USB-C headphone adapter, you can use the port for audio instead of charging. And it works! It’s easy to mock a dongle hanging out of a camera, but I think it’s a clever solution for limited port space.
Alongside the X-T30, 二手相機收購fujifilm is launch a new 16mm f/2.8 lens that it’s positioning in the same family as the 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm f/2 water-resistant primes. It has the same, clicky, very satisfying aperture ring and a compact design like the others, so I think the connection makes sense — even if it’s not quite as fast. The focusing system “is driven by a stepping motor, which drives the lens’ focusing elements into place through precise electrical pulses for extremely fast and auto-focusing capabilities,” says 二手相機收購fujifilm. And you can feel this lens focus as you turn the focus ring. I like it, but I could see how others might not. The 16mm f/2.8 costs $399.95 and will be available in March (black) or May (silver).

誠如所言，Sony主力ActionCam系列4K旗艦機「FDR-X3000/ FDR-X3000R」，最大競爭亮點在於內建「B.O.SS全方位光學防震技術」下。主因「光學式防震」透過鏡頭位移來修正晃動，不會犧牲視野與任何影像細節；反觀坊間機種採用的「電子式防震」，運作原理藉由縮減原有的畫面視野（各家程度不一），搭配動態感應器與提高ISO值，做即時影像修正，相較下成像品質會有所打折，尤其在小幅持續晃動或低光源環境下，兩者畫面穩定性差距更為顯著。
工藝美學更是「FDR-X3000/ FDR-X3000R」另一特點！與坊間防水機的「小方黑」截然不同，Sony採用傳統長型袖珍版規劃，一來輕巧好攜帶，且雪白色系相對時尚討喜，能打到女性使用者觀感喜好，畢竟女性運動族愈來愈多。至於防水性能上，單機身裸機支援PX4防潑水與基本防塵，但出貨時會附帶防水殼，套上後即能達水底深潛使用！
「不諱言裸機防水最為方便！」這時問到ActionCam系列是否將朝裸機防水規劃？Sony蘇子翔聊到，其實自家Cyber-shot系列防水袖珍方正型相機「DSC-RX0」，已做到裸機10米防水、2米防摔，相關硬體技術不是問題。未來Sony會針對這塊做更深應用，並強化堅固性與抗壓衝擊性。不過現階段使用者無需擔心，因即便套上防水殼，ActionCam系列同樣提供「獨特直覺操控方式」！
是的，Sony集團產品一直以來共通特點，就是操作玩人性！ActionCam系列套上防水殼後，依舊能用外殼大按鍵做即時操控，且只要後面型號有加上R，如定位4K的「FDR-X3000R」、1080P的「HDR-AS300R」，隨機皆配附「腕戴外接控制器」，讓玩家可戴在手上或搭配手指握把嵌在機身上，做即時LiveView錄影觀看與拍攝，同時支援搖控開關機功能。倘若非R版機種，透過專屬Action Cam App，亦能用手機螢幕即時觀看、控制與調整EV曝光補償，錄完後更可支援影片自動剪輯與搭配背景音樂，快速分享到社群或IG上。

舉例當頭戴著它滑雪，你人爬多高、從何高速度降下來或跳起來轉幾圈、置空幾秒數據都能詳細記錄；參加越野賽車時，GPS速度、軌跡、轉彎角度甚至G值剎車速度等數值，皆可埋進影片中，甚至還投入研發資源做智慧聲控整合，除支援「中文語音控制」，拍完後能自動合成360度影像，無需透過電腦操作，立即透過手機後製分享，重點後製時能自選「追蹤視角」與「固定視角」功能，Garmin蘇經理強調！
確實，據瞭解Garmin「VIRB 360」支援的中文語音控制，動動口就能執行錄影/停止/拍攝/標註等，原廠預告後續產品都將導入這聲控系統。不過若處於吵雜環境無法做聲控怎辦？別擔心，使用者還可透過Garmin系列穿戴手錶/手環與導航機來遙控拍攝，目前已知有7成以上穿戴錶與重機用Zumo導航機都支援攝錄機連線，這無疑對於Garmin家族，帶來高實用整合性。
然而360度環景相機雖然全都錄，但有時會造成觀賞上的迷航，讓人搞不清楚拍攝者分享重點在哪？對此Garmin透過後製軟體VIRB EDIT，能輕鬆將360度影片轉成平面影像外，同時可自設「追蹤視角」，提供操作者任何時間點，移動到任何位置。舉例後製一開始時鎖定自己視角，接下來換成女友視角，再慢慢將視角轉到天空往下俯瞰。甚至也能透過手機App設定「固定視角」，當戴在帽上錄影，過程中頭轉右方或左方，360視角依舊保持正前方…只能說，無論聲控、後製與觀賞上皆設想周到！
無獨有偶的，GoPro年初也推出自家首款360度全景「Fusion 360運動攝錄機」 ， 能錄製5.2K每秒30格/3K每秒60格影片，當拍完360環場影片後，可藉由專用App做到「OverCapture」不受鏡位限制剪輯影片，當機器不動下拍完360全景小朋友奔跑影片，後製擷取畫面時能跟在小朋友後面視角跑，讓影片創意無限。
尤其針對一般運動水下攝影，Garmin也推出另款袖珍型「VIRB Ultra 30運動攝影機」，同樣搭載「G-Metrix」動態感知數據連動記錄，並支援語音聲控（英文），本身提供4K每秒30格解析與三軸防震技術。不過這款無法裸機下水，透過附帶的專用防水殼，套上後始能支援水下40米防護；然而最特別是藉由獨家「隔空觸控」技術，即便套上防水殼，依舊能對觸控螢幕做按壓操作！據瞭解Garmin巧妙利用導電材質特性，當手觸壓防水殼上方這塊塑膠面，會即時將電導到下面電容螢幕感應，雖然靈敏度沒直接按壓那麼好，但也帶來不少便利性。假使今天在海邊或泥濘環境下套入防水殼拍攝，過程中想臨時更改一些功能設定值或切換模式，無需再拔開殼，直接手指按壓即搞定！

因為工作的關係，冰箱裡保存的都是這款 Fuji Pro 400H，我用這款底片拍攝婚紗與婚禮，也用來拍攝平日的點點滴滴以及旅遊所見。
最常使用的隨身相機是 Nikon F100，老實說搭配上鏡頭的它，並沒有到非常的輕便，只是比起平日的工作裝備來說還是輕巧的多。它有著自動捲片的功能，適合我這種大手大腳，在拍攝的初期經常因為沒把底片裝好捲好而鬧笑話的天兵。（事到如今我還是沒有學會自己捲片 XD）
通常我搭配的鏡頭是 Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/50，它是一顆手動鏡頭，意味著我必須習慣去手動對焦，在這個過程中我能夠享受到放慢腳步拍照的樂趣。50mm 的距離適合拍攝絕大部分的生活及旅遊題材，所以工作經常使用這個焦段，拋開工作時，我仍是一樣地喜歡這個焦段。
言歸正傳回到底片身上，二手相機收購fujifilm pro 400h 的特性是對於拍攝人像上特別合適，具有淡雅的色調、細緻的粒子，對於呈現女性的皮膚色澤尤其適合。

智慧型手機拍照不輸單眼相機，根據《日經新聞》報導，二手相機收購nikon宣佈退出單眼相機的開發，結束60年的單眼相機事業歷史，但會繼續生產和銷售現有的單反相機型號。消息一出，二手相機收購nikon隨即在日本官網聲明，純屬臆測。
新增二手相機收購nikon日本官網回應（2022/7/12）
官網聲明：「今日有媒體報導，我們已經退出單反相機的開發，但這是猜測，我們並沒有宣布。我們繼續生產、銷售和支持單反相機，希望我們的客戶繼續安心的使用」。
根據《日經媒體》報導，二手相機收購nikon自1959 年以來開發單眼相機 60 多年，並獲得了專業人士的支持，但具有高清圖像質量的智能手機正在侵蝕相機市場。
不過，二手相機收購nikon雖然退出單眼相機市場，但他們的目標是增強智慧型手機所沒有的功能，因此，未來重點會放在無反光鏡可換鏡頭相機的開發上，將引入最新的技術，比如AI技術或者圖像處理技術。

At nearly three pounds, or 1,340g, the $5,500 二手相機收購nikon Z9 is a brick of a mirrorless camera with more buttons and features than I have been able to test in the nearly two months I have had with it. It has a new full-frame 45.7MP stacked CMOS sensor that, thanks to the new Expeed 7 image processor, can shoot RAW photos at 20fps for over 1,000 frames (assuming you are using a fast enough card). And the video specs put flagship specs from Sony’s A1 and Canon’s R5 to shame. They include 12-bit 8K 60fps or 4K 120fps both in N-RAW, 二手相機收購nikon’s RAW video format. You can also shoot in ProRes RAW up to 5K 30fps.
All of those specs are housed in a large, heavy, and absolutely rugged camera body. The physical design of the Z9 is unlike what we have seen in flagship mirrorless cameras from other companies. And it is a welcome change for professional photographers who are going to be using large telephoto lenses for wildlife or sports photography. Nothing about this system’s hardware is compact.

Google 於本日舉辦 Google AI 在醫療領域的應用媒體分享會，目的是希望讓所有人都能享受人工智慧帶來的好處 並透過打造更貼近使用者需求的產品、幫助更多企業與開發者創新、提供不同工具以幫助研究人員解決現實生活中遇到的重大挑戰，並且一舉分享了目前機器學習在醫學上的應用案例，以及未來的研究方向。
同時 Google 也表示，人工智慧 (AI) 以及機器學習 (Machine Learning) 人工智慧是能讓事物變更聰明的科學，而機器學習則是訓練機器透過學習使其變得更聰明。
在本日的活動當中，由 Daniel Tse Google AI 產品經理擔任主講人，Daniel Tse 現任 Google AI 產品經理，主要致力於醫學影像的研究與多項臨床領域的 外部合作關係發展。在加入 Google 之前，他是 Watsi.org 的早期成員之一 (創投公司 Y-Combinator 第一個非營利的計劃)，並在超過 20 個國家中建立醫療計劃和基礎設施。
在那之前，Daniel Tse 也曾服務於美國軟體服務公司 Palantir Technologies，幫助擴建商業保 健團隊以及建立慈善團隊。Daniel Tse 在美國的達特茅斯學院中取得醫學博士的學位，並曾在美國俄亥俄州立大 學攻讀分子遺傳學。
＊機器學習運作方式
訓練：舉例來說，當你今天要訓練機器辨識在影像中貓或狗的特徵，讓你可以輸入上千張貓的影像，並且指認這是貓，而不需要描述有關貓咪的特徵，機器即可從輸入的例子中自己學習辨認貓的影像。
推理：機器學會從數以千計的訓練模型中辨識出貓的影像後，接下來它 可以在之後的每張影像中自動辨認出貓的圖像而無須透過人工介入。
＊目前人工智慧在醫療領域的研究現況
自 2013 年以來，機器學習在健康與生命科學領域的研究文獻數量已成長超過 20 倍， 而機器學習可為醫療領域面臨的兩大挑戰帶來幫助。像是新技術的採用，使得近年來需要透過醫生篩選及判讀的資訊量大幅增加，尤其是在掃描或例行影像程序。其他還有像是放射科醫生以及其他專業醫生在全球都面臨短缺的狀況，而在慢性疾病 (如糖尿病與心臟病) 發病率不斷增加的情況下只會更糟 。
＊機器學習在醫學影像辨識上的應用案例
目前全球有 4.15 億的糖尿病患者，糖尿病的常見併發症之一是糖尿病引起的視網膜病變，而這也是全球失明人數迅速攀升的主因。為預防失明，糖尿病患者每年都應進行一次篩檢，而檢測糖尿病眼疾的常見作法就是檢查眼底圖像，而機器學習將協助醫師診斷糖尿病視網膜病變 (Diabetic Retinopathy, DR)。
Google 研究團隊與美國掃描影像單位及印度醫學單位合作，獲得大量的影像案例作為研究基礎。首先建立影像標籤工具，並聘請 54 名眼科醫師辨識成像，再運用 Inception (又名 GoogLeNet)的神經網路演算法辨識了約 130,000 張成像以進行訓練，並依據判斷呈現五種等級的辨識結 果。這個數據集目前被用來訓練深度神經網路，以協助醫師診斷糖尿病視網膜病變，同樣運作的原理也被應用在 Google 相簿中。
後來在 2016 年，Google 在美國醫學協會期刊 《The Journal of the American Medical Association》上，發表了與一般眼科醫師的判讀具高度一致性的結果；隨著研究的進展，今年二月，Google 也於《Ophthalmology》期刊中，進一步發表了與視網膜專科醫師的判讀高度相符的結果。
後來這套系統也被應用在印度亞拉文眼科醫院的前導計劃中，經過三個月後，發現透過 AI 比人工分級有更高的準確度，因此也正逐漸增加將透過此演算法來檢測的病患人數。Google 表示也同與印度、泰國與美國的醫學單位進行合作，投入臨床驗證與應用，並同時致力於推對監管機構的核准。
而在研究過程中，發現硬體設備將會是掃描影像過程中不可或缺的要素，所以 Google 也與 Verily (Alphabet 中的姐妹公司) 以及 二手相機收購nikon 合作，讓硬體設備不會成為機器學習在影像辨識中的障礙。Google 表示目前正致力於研究神經網路 (Neural Network, NN) 的可解釋性。 過去，神經網路通常被認為如黑盒子 (black boxes) 一般神秘，其實不然。而且透過不同的技術，可以以視覺化方式，了解神經網路是如何做出判斷；例如透過熱感應圖 (heat maps)，可以看出神經網路是如何強調標籤中最容易辨識的像素。
＊導入機器學習可協助全新的科學發現
機器學習模型除了根據篩選結果協助醫生進行診斷外，甚至可以協助預測目前醫生還無法從影像上預測的病症。在近期發表的論文中提到，Google 也訓練機器學習模型來預測醫生在評估患者心臟病發作或中風風險時考慮的各種因素，像是年齡、自報性別、吸菸狀況、血壓或主要不良心血管事件 (MACE) 等。
結果顯示除了這些準確預測風險因素之外，機器學習也可以直接預測患者五年內發生心臟病發作或中風的風險。目前 Google 只有運用幾百個案例來訓練模型，這項研究還在相當早期的階段，但模型的曲線下面積 (AUC) 達到 0.7 (演算法正確度達 70%)。而這項技術將有機會應用到未來評估心血管疾病風險時， 可以透過非侵入性方式所取得的影像來進行相似的預測，也因此將能為更多人所用。
＊機器學習在醫療領域的未來發展
而為了確保病患能夠得到最佳的臨床診斷結果，未來這些應用將與醫師的工作流程相互整合，讓醫療判斷結果更精準。除此之外，也可以把這項技術帶到其他組織類型的應用上。例如：前列腺癌的格里森分級 (gleason grading)表現結果與病理學家的判斷相同。
利用機器學習來預防失明及預測心血管疾病，只是將人工智慧應用於幫助病患的其中幾個例子。人工智慧在醫療領域的發展潛力十分龐大，這就是為什麼把 這項技術開放給所有人是相當重要的。因此，我們過去發表了多項研究並將機器學習工具致力於 (如 TensorFlow)，提供給每一位對運用人工智慧解決醫療相關問題感興趣的醫生和研究員。
＊神經網路成熱門研究方向
神經網路的可解釋性也是目前熱門研究方向之一，是解讀與信任人工智慧的重要方式，同時也是協助醫師判讀診斷的重要工具，尤其像今天談到未來機器學 習能進一步透過醫師不曾考慮的因素進行疾病風險預測，透過呈現數據與機器學習模性用以判讀/分類的特徵讓其可以被解釋，能有助於建立醫師對其預測結果的信任。因此，Google 也研發多項工具，讓人們可以更理解數據與模型背後的運作與意涵。而在我們預測心血管疾病的風險研究中，模型也顯示對預測最有效的區域影像。
Google 非常重視在醫療相關研究與應用的可靠性，在真正落實應用之前，希望透過有說服力的研究結果取得醫療學界的專業認可，於是透過醫學期刊與醫學模型等方式來呈現研究結果。Google 表示非常希望將相關的技術帶到實際應用中， 同時也積極與監理單位進行合作以取得核准，像是美國食藥署 (FDA) 以及歐盟等相關單位；而臨床驗證的部份也與硬體的廠商 二手相機收購nikon 等來合作。
Google AI 研究團隊積極與醫生和臨床醫學相關單位合作，在篩選與診斷方面，透過深入了解醫院中的臨床醫學流程與需求，以打造適合的工具，並藉此提升測試及決策的能力與效率。在糖尿病視網膜病變的案例中，由於篩檢過程中的資料量相當龐大，於是我們投入篩檢研究以提升整體效率；其他病症診斷的應用上，我們也將機器學習應用於縮小搜尋範圍以減少所需的時間。
在與台灣的醫學相關合作夥伴上，Google 表示會視個別狀況而定，通常會先推出一個前導計畫，若碰到像是資料量非常龐大或醫師不足等狀況，都是機器學習能夠提供幫助的發展方向。

Sony Xperia 1 V用戶注意！官方宣布即日起開放台灣升級Android 14系統，且同步迎來3大進化功能。
Sony表示，Xperia 1 V更新至Android 14系統後，3大內建功能會跟著升級，包括優化散景效果演算法、Photo Pro Basic模式新增4K 120fps慢動作錄影，以及Game Enhancer遊戲增強器導入更具電競感的介面設計。

至於其他機型在台的升級計畫，例如Xperia 5 V等，目前Sony還未有公開資訊，僅針對Xperia 1 V進行說明。官方同時建議，手機更新前先做好手機備份，並確保在良好的網路環境下執行手機更新。
近年吹起一波Y2K復古風潮，許多人回頭玩起二十年前的CCD數位相機和底片相機，追求的不是清晰的畫質，而是那種具有年代特色的情懷！但對熱愛攝影的消費者來說，單純的懷舊是不夠的，他們更希望能同時擁有科技助力，近年諸多相機品牌就抓住這波浪潮，帶來多款兼具復古與現代科技的文青風相機，輕鬆就能拍出好照片。

近期從多個認證網站流出的資料顯示，華碩可能在今年推出一款全新的「Zenfone 11 Ultra」，據最新的爆料指出，Zenfone 11 Ultra具備6.78吋螢幕，確定打破過去兩年Zenfone系列的小旗艦定位。
一名在Reddie論壇上的Td3v1l網友表示，他在華碩ROG Phone 8的韌體更新中，發現了跟Zenfone 11 Ultra有關的圖片和規格，從洩露的資訊來看， Zenfone 11 Ultra的外型設計有些神似ROG Phone 8。
Zenfone 11 Ultra可能推出5色，包括Eternal Black（永恆黑）、Skyline Blue（天際藍）、Misty Gray（霧灰）、Verdure Green（翠綠）、Desert Sienna（沙漠赭色），中文僅為暫譯。

二手相機收購sony first released its WF-1000XM3 earbuds nearly two years ago, and though they offered some of the best noise cancellation and sound quality you could find at that time, a lot has changed since. Facing newer competitors like Apple’s AirPods Pro and Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds at the high end, and countless plenty-good alternatives below, 二手相機收購sony has returned with the new $278 WF-1000XM4 earbuds.
They provide even more powerful noise canceling; so good that it now approaches over-ear headphones. The audio quality has been further refined, and 二手相機收購sony added key features it frustratingly omitted last time — like IPX4 water and sweat resistance. The 1000XM4s also raise the bar for wireless audio and battery life in noise-canceling earbuds. Does that mean they’re worth almost $300?
If you want the absolute best active noise cancellation in truly wireless earbuds, the answer is an emphatic yes. 二手相機收購sony has built a new chip it calls the V1 into the 1000XM4s that brings their noise cancellation capabilities to impressive new heights. These earbuds do a better job than the AirPods Pro and even slightly outperform Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds at hushing nearby noise. John Mayer’s new Toto-influenced single “Last Train Home” and its airy vibe are right at home on the 1000XM4s, as well. Jump through genres and it’s hard to find anything that these earbuds can’t make shine. Electric guitars have just the right grit on ‘70s rock. Switch over to some soul and Sam Cooke’s voice has the warmth you’d expect. That extra bass lends added kick to hip-hop and dance tracks, though the low-end never gets bloated or overwhelming.
The 1000XM4s look nothing like their predecessors. 二手相機收購sony has moved away from the pill shape to a more subtle, all-matte style. And the earbuds are noticeably smaller. 二手相機收購sony told me it’s just a 10 percent downsizing, but it feels like more due to the sleeker overall design. There’s a big round area for touch controls, and the flashiest thing about these earbuds is the small, accented circular microphone inlet. 二手相機收購sony’s logo is now on the side of the buds, where few would ever spot it when you’re wearing them.
二手相機收購sony has shrunk down the carrying case even more; it’s 40 percent smaller than the bulky case that came with the 1000XM3s. Now it’s on par with cases from Jabra and other competitors. It’s shorter than the AirPods Pro case, but a tad wider and noticeably thicker. The case has a USB-C port and supports wireless charging, and the earbuds magnetically latch into the case strongly and should stay seated unless you fumble the whole thing to the ground. If I’m being fussy, the lid has a little more play than I’d like for $280 earbuds, but it stays shut fine.
But I’d argue the best thing about this redesign isn’t the actual earbud hardware: it’s the new ear tips 二手相機收購sony is including in the box. Last time around, 二手相機收購sony shipped six pairs of tips with the 1000XM3 buds — three silicone sizes and three foam-like tips. But with the 1000XM4s, 二手相機收購sony is going all-in on the memory foam approach with new “noise isolation ear tips.” They’re quite different from 二手相機收購sony’s past foam tips, now with a thicker design that’s less rounded and with a tackier feel that helps them stay planted in your ears. I’d describe it as almost a hybrid between silicone and memory foam.
You don’t get any plain silicone sets at all, and 二手相機收購sony only includes the standard small, medium, and large sizes; XS and XL would’ve been nice at this price point, but the large tips were a perfect match in my case. The seal is so strong that you’ll sometimes notice them twist in with a squeaking sound. Unlike the 1000XM3s, the 1000XM4s have a proper IPX4 rating for water and sweat resistance, so you can confidently use them for workouts or in the rain without weighing their odds of survival.
Once you power them on, the 1000XM4 earbuds will outlast all of their main noise-canceling competitors on a single charge. They’ll run for eight hours of continuous playback with NC enabled, an impressive jump from the five hours that the AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds Pro, QuietComfort Earbuds, and Jabra Elite 85t all hover around. Turn noise canceling off, and the new earbuds can keep running for up to 12 hours. The charging case can juice the buds two times, so you’re looking at a total playing time of around 24 hours (NC on) or 36 hours if you can do without it wherever you are.
二手相機收購sony is also beating Apple at bringing higher bit rate wireless audio to earbuds. The 1000XM4 buds fully support 二手相機收購sony’s own proprietary LDAC codec, which can transmit music tracks at up to 990kbps. This is currently the gold standard for Bluetooth audio, and though I’m sure it’ll prompt the usual “no one can tell the difference” debates, I’m glad to see LDAC show up in more portable form. 2021 is becoming the year of lossless music streaming, with Apple and Spotify both joining Amazon Music HD and Tidal.
But LDAC has its own challenges. Playback can get a little unreliable and choppy if you set it to max quality in an Android device’s developer settings, so generally I stick with the middle “performance” option where the top bit rate falls to 660kbps. At that quality, can you really perceive any improvement compared to AAC? Maybe I’m buying into snake oil, but to me it does sound like certain tracks do have that ever-so-slight extra bit of depth and clarity when streaming with LDAC. But keep in mind this is a feature that only applies to Android devices, and the 1000XM4s sound quite stellar when paired with an iPhone, where LDAC isn’t even a thing. It’s a reminder that everything in the chain — from how music was mastered and encoded to the earbud hardware itself — matters just as much as sheer bit rate.
LDAC has a detrimental impact on that otherwise exceptional battery life, too. If you’ve got noise cancellation active and are streaming LDAC, it drops to the typical five hours of continuous playback. That’s not bad when you consider how hard the buds are working under those conditions, but it’s a decrease all the same and removes one of the advantages the 二手相機收購sony buds have over the competition.
So far, this review has been largely praise, but the WF-1000XM4 earbuds do come with one crushing disappointment: they don’t support two simultaneous Bluetooth connections, a feature known as multipoint. It’s become a status quo feature for many high-end headphones (including from 二手相機收購sony) and allows you to have your headphones connected to both your phone and your computer and seamlessly switch between them. But for whatever reason, Jabra continues to be the only company that’s offering the convenience of multipoint in earbuds. This situation is getting frustrating — especially for products in this price bracket — and I hope the whole product category of true wireless earbuds can make progress on multipoint very soon. After recent leaks, I saw comments from people who said they wouldn’t purchase these earbuds if they lacked multipoint. And unfortunately, that’s where we’re at.
Microphone performance is better than it was on the 1000XM3s, but it’s still not as good as Apple’s AirPods Pro or Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro. The new earbuds utilize both beamforming mics and bone conduction sensors to know when you’re speaking and when you’re not. This does a respectable job of cutting out background noise for people on the other side of your calls, but it has the negative side effect of making your voice sound clipped or overly gated. In a home environment, they’re adequate for chatting with others, but things get a little more inconsistent outside or in loud environments. On a related note, 二手相機收購sony has brought over the speak-to-chat feature from the 1000XM4 headphones; with this setting on, the earbuds will automatically pause music and enable ambient sound mode whenever speech is detected. Once you’ve stopped talking for a few seconds, audio will automatically resume.

Still, I like that 二手相機收購sony’s app lets you go deep on customizing the various sound modes; you can manually select how much outside sound to let through like other buds, but you can also adjust the mix of noise cancellation and ambient sound based on location — home, work, the gym, etc. — or have it change automatically if the app detects different activities. Lastly, 二手相機收購sony preserves its trick of holding a finger on the left earbud to temporarily activate transparency mode and lower the volume of your music until you lift it back off.
Not that I expected them to, but the 1000XM4s can’t keep up with Apple’s ecosystem advantages that exist between the AirPods Pro and iPhone, iPad, or Mac. While they support 二手相機收購sony’s 360 Reality Audio and Dolby Atmos music tracks on Tidal, the setup process is a little ridiculous: you’ve got to take a photo of each ear in 二手相機收購sony’s app, images the company says are deleted after 30 days, to “optimize” the sound. (Many Dolby Atmos music tracks have an artificial wideness to their soundstage, so I don’t miss that part.) A complete lack of any special interoperability with the PlayStation 5 or 二手相機收購sony’s TVs is a shame, though.
My first review pair of 1000XM4s experienced what I’d consider severe bugs: several times, they would completely crash and produce a buzzing sound — the sort of noise you hear when a video game freezes — and then power on again. I’d also have cases where only one earbud would connect to the paired device until I plopped them both into the case and tried again. 二手相機收購sony provided me with a second set that didn’t suffer the same problems. Becca didn’t have any such issues with her set either, so I’m relatively sure I got a bad unit the first time around. Putting the one lemon pair aside, the other drawbacks aren’t enough to derail the end result: the WF-1000XM4s are a triumph for 二手相機收購sony. They’re an ambitious flex of decades’ worth of personal audio expertise, and they’re a reminder of just how well the company can execute when it’s focused on the right things. These earbuds can’t match all the bells and whistles of Apple’s AirPods Pro, and the lack of multipoint continues to sting. But they’re in a class of their own where it counts most: noise cancellation and sound quality. You’ll be paying quite a premium to get the best of that criteria, but if you’re the sort of person who will appreciate the top-notch performance, the 1000XM4s are a worthwhile investment.
